Experience the various sights and historic locations of the Cape Peninsula within the comfort of an air conditioned micro bus. There are various day outing to choose from. The following tours and outings are designed as one day trips and are well worth the experience.

Table Mountain and down to Cape Point

An early ascent of the famous Table Mountain, your guide will point out the highlights of one of the worlds most famous views. After the decent, the tour continues to Cape Point.

On a scenic drive along the length of the Cape Peninsula you will be shown the historical memorials of Cecil John Rhodes, South Africa's first diamond magnate. After that experience the oldest wine farm in South Africa , Simon Van der Stel's Groot Constantia, will be visited.
After a short drive from Groot Constantia you will enter the old fishing harbour of Kalk Bay that is located in the heart of False Bay . The tour will proceed to Simonstown, where you can enjoy the antics of the little men in their dinner jackets, namely the Penguin colony of Boulders.

Finally, the tour winds down into the Cape Point nature reserve. Your guide will point out various historical monuments and spectacular views from the tip of the Cape of Good Hope . Please be warned, you will most probably encounter the mischievous baboon troop, these baboons appear tame, and are attracted by food. Please do not feed the baboons and avoid carrying food in front of them, as they will attack you to get the food. You are in Africa after all.

The journey back to Cape Town will take you along Chapman's Peak drive into the sleepy town of Hout Bay. A short boat ride from Hout Bay harbour is Duiker Island. Here we will introduce you to the sights and smells of one of the largest seal colonies off the Cape Peninsula.

Cape Town and Kirstenbosh Gardens or Table Mountain and Robben Island

This outing is designed to introduce you to the sights and sounds of Cape Town . The tour includes a trip out to the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, where a ferry is caught out to Robben Island , the place where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 27 yrs. Upon return to dry land, we will visit the apartheid museum in District six. Here you will be able to gather first hand information on the horrors of the Group Areas Act and the awful pass laws of the old government.

No trip to Cape Town is complete without a visit to the world famous Kirstenbosh Botanical Gardens. Here you will be able to view the best of South Africa's fauna and flora in a beautifully landscaped environment.
The outing ends with a sundowner trip up Table Mountain , where you can watch the sun set over the Atlantic Ocean and the city lights begin to twinkle in the evening haze.

Wineland Tours

South African wine is world famous, and a trip out into the heart of the wine producing farm land is only an hour away. Your guide will take you on adventures through the various wine farms of Stellenbosh, Franschhoek and Paarl. Starting with the wine farm Bergkelder in Stellenbosh, what follows is an informative and descriptive tour that provides you with in-depth local knowledge of the region. You will have the opportunity to taste some of the finest wines ever produced, purchase rare estate wines and relax in the splendour of the Boland Mountains.

Arrangements can be made, should you require a visit to the Oliphant's River or Robertson Wine routes.

The Hermanus Whale Watching Adventure (July to November)

During the winter months in South Africa, the coastline becomes alive with sea life. Large Southern Right whales migrate to the Cape waters to give birth to their young. Whales can be seen along the entire Cape coastline, but it is in a vibrant little town called Hermanus, that the best land based viewing of these whales is possible.
African Zest Tours offers one day adventures out to Hermanus with the main focus on bringing you a close encounter of the whale variety.

The tour departs from Cape Town in the morning. It follows the coastline past the pristine beach’s of Gordon’s Bay and Kogel Bay. The tour passes through the seaside resorts of Betty’s Bay and Kleimond and on into Hermanus. Here both land based whale watching as well as boat charters can be organized for the best possible angles. Keep an ear out for the Whale crier to discover just where the whales are converging.
The tour returns to Cape Town via the spectacular Sir Lowry's Pass, which offers spectacular views of the peninsula and the winelands.

3 Days / 2 Nights (Dinner, bed and breakfast)

Day 1:

We depart for Lamberts Bay , an unique fisherman's village famous for it's crayfish. After arrival we visit Bird Island , where colonies of gannet, penguins and cormorants can be seen.

Day 2:

After breakfast we depart to Clanwilliam and the Cederberg mountains. We will pay a visit to the Rooibos tea factory, where South Africa 's unique "health tea" is processed and packaged. We also visit the Clanwilliam leather factory. (Only open during week days)

The adventurous can take a trip to follow a two hour walking trail to view original Bushmen paintings in the Cederberg.

We return to Lamberts Bay where we will have dinner at an unique open air restaurant. (weather permitting) Crayfish will be served in season as well as the well known "Hotnotsvis" of the West Coast. An absolute treat awaits you with freshly baked bread from the clay oven as well as home made jam.

Day 3:

After breakfast we depart via Piekenierskloof to Saldanha Bay for lunch. We then travel back on the West Coast via Langebaan and Yzerfontein to Cape Town . Arrival in Cape Town approximately 17:H00.

4 Days / 3 Nights (Bed and breakfast)

Day 1

We travel via the N2 National road through an area known as "the bread basket of South Africa " due to the many grain fields. Weather permitting, we could also explore a part of the coastal road via Hermanus and watch the whales in the harbour.

This is approximately a four hour drive to Oudtshoorn. We visit the Caravel at the Diaz Maritime Museum in Mosselbay and continue our journey to Oudtshoorn via the Robinson pass.

Day 2

Oudtshoorn in the Klein Karoo, known as the "Ostrich Capital of the world," will keep us busy for a full day.An ostrich farm will be visited, as well as the Cango Wildlife ranch where cheetahs, crocodiles and snakes can be seen. The adventurous can even pat a cheetah!

The highlight of the day is a visit to the world famous Cango caves. We will have lunch on a farm where a camel ride is optional. Then we travel over the Outeniqua pass to George where we will overnight

Day 3


We depart for the lake districts in Wilderness and on to Knysna known for its oyster cultivating farm. This trip can be done on a tourist steam train, the Knysna Choo-Tjoe, to experience the scenic beauty of this region. After lunch at the Knysna Waterfront, a boat trip on the Knysna estuary will take you to the Knysna Heads. "Old Three Legs" is an unique ferry with 3 hydraulic legs, able to lift the ferry higher than water level. This invention featured on the TV program "Beyond 2000". These trips are subject to availability and weather permitting.

Day 4

After breakfast we depart for the Tsitsikamma forest and the “Big Tree”. We continue our way over the three bridges and Natures Valley to the Storms River bridge. Arrival in Port Elizabeth about 18H00. Alternatively we head south back to Cape Town along the N2 via George.

Depart from Pretoria/Johannesburg and travel via Witbank with a breakfast stop at  Middelburg. Then continue via Waterval Boven to Nelspruit. We enter the Kruger Park at the nearest gate, and the afternoon will be spent game viewing. Overnight at  a Rest Camp or Hotel.
